Danielle M. Kasper

July 8, 2020

Danielle Maria Kasper was born on December 20, 1971, in Wells, Minnesota. She married Henry "Bud" Kasper on June 20, 2008, in Austin, Minnesota. Her life was unexpectedly and tragically cut short by a difficult three-month battle with cancer, but she was strong and determined to fight right up until the end. She was kind and loving and left a lasting impression on everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Grandma Dani loved kayaking and boating with her husband and dogs on the Red Cedar River and Tainter Lake in Western Wisconsin. She also loved and was amazingly skilled at many various crafts (especially crocheting), and she cherished the time spent on projects with anyone who wanted to learn and participate. Dani loved going to the casino (especially her annual Las Vegas trip with her husband every December on her birthday!), rocking out at Country Jam, camping, fishing, garage saling and antiquing, and her many pets, but what she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her large and close-knit family, especially her grandchildren. She was beautiful, funny, smart, strong-willed, loyal, generous, and adventurous, and she had a heart of gold.

Dani was preceded in death by her brother, Darren Johannsen and her mother, Carmen Johannsen.

She is survived by her loving husband, Henry "Bud" Kasper of Austin, Minnesota; son, Maverick (Sammy) Duenes of Austin, Minnesota; brothers, Duane (Laurie) Johannsen of Waseca, Minnesota, David Michael (Pam) Johannsen of Elk River, Minnesota, and Dusty (Jill) Johannsen of Geneva, Minnesota; sisters, Denise (Craig) Jindra of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Dawn Johannsen of West Concord, Minnesota, Dena (Dave) Wiseman of Austin, Minnesota; father, Mitchell "Micky" Johannsen of Albert Lea, Minnesota; stepfather, Brad Crumb of New Richland, Minnesota; stepsons, Brandon (Krystal) Kasper of Blaine, Minnesota, Travis (Holly) Kasper of Austin, Minnesota, and Justin (Paige) Kasper of Austin, Minnesota; stepdaughter, Ashley Kasper of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Alex, Gavin, Lucy, Kayley, Thea and Jason, and many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, all of whom she loved dearly.

She is deeply missed by us all and will forever be remembered in our hearts.

A Celebration of Dani's life will be held on September 12, 2020, at 1 P.M. at the lake house in Colfax, Wisconsin (Tainter Lake).
