Howard D. “Howie” Bahlke, 76, of Eau Claire, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Clark County Rehabilitation Center in Owen.

Florist Information

  • Timothy Broetzmann Howie and I worked in the Inspection Department at Uniroyal in Eau Claire. We spent many winter days ice fishing coming off the night shift. When the plant closed Howie went to Tuscaloosa and I went to Opelika. Those were the days my friend. We thought they would never end.

  • Bob Wing My wife, Ellen, and I offer condolences to the family of Howard Bahlke. Howie and I attended Lincoln School together, I recall one time, like sixth grade, the teacher gave the class some kind of general intelligence test. Howie scored higher than anyone else. I remember he lived near the school on Babcock Street. Our paths crossed a number of years ago when we dealt with Germaine in adopting a shelter dog. Howie and I discovered we were both married to Chippewa Falls girls who were classmates also. I last bumped into Howie at the Classic assisted living place a couple of years ago when I was there visiting a resident. I think we were both surprised we recognized one another. I regret not returning to chat with him again. Ellen's maiden name is Leidholdt.
