Shirley A. Olson

Shirley A. Olson

December 31, 2018

Shirley A. Olson, died Monday, December 31, 2018, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on October 17, 1942, at home on a farm in Meridean, WI, to Melvin C. & Olga H. Enerson.

Shirley grew up in the Mondovi area and also in Chippewa Falls where she attended school. Upon graduation she took a Certified Nurse’s Aide course from the local technical college, of which she was most proud.  Shirley held several jobs in her lifetime, lived in Illinois for a couple of decades before moving back to the Eau Claire area after her companion of 20 years died.  In 2001 she became a volunteer at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital where she loved being with her second family.  Her dedication and loyalty to the hospital was unparalleled.  She always had a ready smile and willingness to help anyone in need.  If we all had that joy for life and giving heart, we’d be a much better world.

Shirley is preceded in death by her brothers’ Gene and Bob.

Survivors include her brother, Don (Linda) Enerson; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

To respect Shirley’s request, she wishes to be cremated and there will be no funeral service. Burial will be at Peru Cemetery in Meridean, Wisconsin, at a later date.

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services – Celebration of Life Center in Altoona is assisting with arrangements.

Service

Private burial services will be held in the spring.
