Patricia "Pat" A. Perry

December 1, 2018

Patricia Ann (Pat) Perry, age 89, of Eau Claire, passed away on December 1, 2018, at home with her daughter by her side.

Patricia was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on August 15, 1929 to Ingvald and Florence Remen. She attended school in La Crosse and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1950 with a B.S. in physical education. She married Robert K. Perry on August 27, 1950. She put teaching on hold while she raised their four children in La Crosse, Brainerd, Minnesota, and Janesville, Wisconsin. She taught physical education at Franklin Junior High School in Janesville for ten years before moving to Eau Claire in 1977. In Eau Claire, Pat worked at the Chippewa Valley Technical College teaching English as a Second Language, a job she loved.

Patricia and her husband traveled extensively for over forty years, visiting over twenty countries on four continents. Patricia’s hobbies included reading, sewing, Norwegian baking, bicycling, swimming and hosting dinner parties. She loved books, art and music. Most of all she loved learning. Her fierce independence, strength of character and sense of adventure and fun will be forever missed by her family and friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Robert K. Perry, who she greatly missed after his death in 2013.

Patricia is survived by three sons, Steven (Patricia) of Hendersonville, NC, Timothy (Ute) of Binghamton, NY, Jonathan (Julie) of Bradenton, FL; one daughter, Kate Perry and son-in-law Jon Cattau; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Crystal, Elizabeth, and William; and two great-grandchildren, Ziva and Maliyah. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Mary Nowlan of Hoka, Minnesota, and Karen Remen of La Crosse.

Private graveside services, followed by a celebration party that does her spirit justice, will be held in La Crosse this summer. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services-- Celebration of Life Center in Altoona is serving the family.

Private services will be held.

  • Edwin Miller To the Perry family, I send condolences and prayers from myself and the rest of the Miller family, your neighbors from Janesville some fifty years ago. I am in the Eau Claire area and recently read of Pat's death in the paper. As I informed my mother, (Grace), my Brothers Steve and Charlie, and my sister Carol, all asked that I mention their thoughts and prayers to your family as well. We all have fond memories of your mom and dad, and your whole family. May God bring you strength and comfort at this time.
