Becky L. Hinz

Becky L. Hinz

November 1, 2018

Becky Lee Hinz, 66, of Eau Claire passed away November 1, 2018, at home with her family by her side.  She was born December 1, 1951, to Robert L. Stevenson and the late Vicky L. Little.

Becky Graduated from Robbinsdale High School of Minnesota, then obtained a degree in International Trade, and worked in that field for many years.

She was a loving, caring, and loyal wife, mother, and friend.  She married the love of her life, Paul Hinz, in 1998 and assisted him with the management of their business Sparkle Wash.  They were rarely apart and never tired of each other’s company.  They enjoyed traveling across the country in their big truck, eating local cuisine, and making new friends.  Another major love for both of them was music; he playing it and she dancing to it.  They both loved trivia and their days were highlighted by completing their morning crossword puzzle, followed by watching the afternoon episodes of Jeopardy.

Becky was an amazing chef and her family and friends always looked forward to hearing what the evening’s menu was to be and how the latest recipe turned out, not to mention sampling her creations.

Her greatest accomplishment was raising her two children, Michelle and Eric.  She herself was an honest, loyal, compassionate, and intelligent person and it was very important to her to instill these values in her children.  She gave them unconditional love and provided a sense of security and comfort that they could depend on from her.

Becky’s pride and joy were her two granddaughters, Gabrielle and Audrey Cernjar.  She looked forward to their weekend visits when they would all cuddle up to watch a movie, do some cooking and baking together, and their annual birthday shopping trips.  She never tired of showing off their photos and telling of their latest achievements.

Although she fought five long years against cancer, for us, it was still too soon. We will miss her every day and are thankful for all that she shared with us and taught us.

She is survived by her husband Paul Hinz; daughter, Michelle (Terry) Demars; son, Eric (Erin) Cernjar; and granddaughters, Gabrielle and Audrey Cernjar.  She is further survived by her father, Robert L. Stevenson (Vicky Suby); sister, Pamela (Gary) Postel; brother, Clayton (Marcia) Little; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Stevenson; her mother, Vicky Little; and her step-father, John Little.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm Friday November 9, 2018, at Chippewa Valley Cremation Services - Celebration of Life Center, 1717 Devney Dr., Altoona, WI (located just off Hwy 12, behind Charter Spectrum).
