Jane C. (NEE Parker) Van Loo, 91, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 5, 2018.

She was born on March 11, 1927, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Teresa (Steahr) and Charles Parker.  She grew up in Shawtown with eight siblings.  On June 8, 1946, she married Eugene Van Loo and raised three children.  They were married 68 years until his passing. 

Jane worked alongside of her husband owning and operating Westgate Paint Store until selling in 1961.  For many years she enjoyed being home with her family.  Once the children were all in school, she went back to work as a supervisor at Fabri-Tech, Inc.

She was an avid seamstress sewing prom dresses for her children and grandchildren.  Also wedding dresses for her daughter and first granddaughter along with 11 bridesmaid dresses.  She also loved to garden and took pleasure in spending hours gathering and canning her harvest.   At Christmas, nothing was left out as she enjoyed baking and decorating.  She also hosted many luncheons with dear friends and bible study with her Good Shepherd Church family. 

Jane is survived by her son Bryan (Karen) Van Loo; and daughter, Cinthia (David) Mayer; six grandchildren, Julia Van Loo Lyons, Jason (Kari) Van Loo, Angela Weggen, Anna (Randy) Burger, Mariah Mayer, Ashley Mayer; nine great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Sydney, Spencer, Savannah, Brock, Bridget, Dane, Willow, Aniya; one sister, Kate Knuth; sister-in-law, Rose Parker; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Susan Weggen and son-in-law, Robert Weggen; three brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Jane’s special friends and staff at Good Shepherd Apartments and to Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion until her death.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Eau Claire with Pastor Josh Toufar officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Altoona is serving the family.
