Gladys H. (Sax) Barrett, wife of Wallace J. Barrett, passed away at home surrounded by family May 21, 2018.

Gladys was born February 20, 1938, and grew up on Sunnyridge Lane in Golden Valley Village, Minneapolis, MN.  After marriage, they moved to Eau Claire, WI and raised their family.

Gladys had a full life leaving holes in the hearts of many people including her children:  Bonni Jo (Steve) Falkner of Elk Mound, WI; Benjamin J. (Shirley) Barrett of Trego, WI; Bryan J. (Holly) Barrett of Lincoln, NE; Bradley J. (Cari) Barrett of Waukesha, WI; Broderick J. (Rachel) Barrett of Chilton, WI; Brent J. (Cindy) Barrett of Waukesha, WI; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Margie Rosella Reisinger and James Constantine Sax; two brothers, Clyde J. (Dorothy) Sax and James O. (Irene) Sax; one sister, Betty; and her grandson, Austin J. (Broderick and Rachel) Barrett.

Gladys worked in the Eau Claire area caring for the dying and elderly.  Thanks to the people at St. Joseph's Hospice for their support in her journey.

Cherish and love one another today for tomorrow may never come.

A private service is being planned for later this summer. 

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services is serving the family.

  • Denise Suckow Please tell Wally and family that Gladys was a kind sweet lady to my sister Darla and I. I used to see her on the casino bus and there were a few times that we enjoyed a meal there. So sorry for your loss.
