William "Bill" J. Larsen

William J. Larsen, 80, of Chippewa Falls, WI, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.  He was surrounded by loving family members.

Bill was born on October 15, 1937, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Herbert and Margaret (Johnson) Larsen. He graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School in 1955 and shortly after entered the United States Navy where he was a Radio Operator on the U.S.S. Leyte, an aircraft carrier. As a civilian, Bill had several jobs including that of Semi driver and Real Estate Agent/Broker.  He was with Coldwell Banker, Brenizer Realtors for many years, retiring at the age of 80!  Bill was a member of the Chippewa Falls Moose Lodge 246, the Noon Kiwanis Club and Life Member of VFW Post 1038.

 

Bill and Ardith K. Lee have been happily married since December 30, 1976.

 

He is survived by his wife, Ardy; his daughter, Heidi (John) Christianson; four sons, Mark, Jeff, Craig (Sharon), and Tony (Laura) all from his previous marriage; his siblings, Judith Hanson and Sandra (Waverly) Larsen; sister-in-law, Jerrie Larsen; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and brother-in-law, Rodney (LaCena) Lee.

 

Preceding Bill in death were his son, Scott; his parents, and in-laws, Lloyd and Marjorie Lee; brothers, Herbert and Richard (Phyllis) Larsen and sister, Lois (Wayne) Schaal.

 

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at a later date.

 

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services Altoona, is serving the family.

I was part of the coffee group way back and have worked with Bill many times over the years. He was a wonderful, caring person. He always took time to stop and say "Hi" when he was in.
