Donald J. Hillman, 90, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, September 17, 2017, at his home.

He was born May 6,1927, in Eau Claire, WI, the son of William and Anna (Gisvold) Hillman.  Don married June Walde at Pinehurst Lutheran Church on April 8, 1950.  She preceded him in death in 2007.

 

Don and his brother David owned Hillman Bros. Service Station in Eau Claire.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in Guam.

Survivors include his two children, Larry (JoMarilyn) Hillman and Lynda (Dan) Hillman-Whitaker both of Eau Claire; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June; and two brothers.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1500 Peterson Ave. in Eau Claire with Pastor Paul Sullivan officiating.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Prairie View Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at church.

 

Memorials are preferred to Ascension Lutheran Church or to the Eau Claire County Humane Society.

 

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services, Altoona, is serving the family.
