Lyle W Bergerson

Lyle W Bergerson

July 7, 2017

Lyle W. Bergerson, 84, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully on July 7, 2017.

Lyle was born in Bruce Valley, WI on August 19, 1932, the son of Hartwig and Thelma (Eide) Bergerson. Lyle married Darlene Johnson on May 21, 1960. Lyle served four years in the U.S. Air Force including a tour of duty in Korea.  He went to trade school in Minneapolis and later worked at Eau Claire Graphic Printing as a linotype operator for 25 years. He also spent six years working at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.  His last work was at the Oakwood Mall where he took great pride in providing cleaning services for several of the retail operators.  In his retirement, he golfed at Hallie Golf Course; a place he truly enjoyed.

Lyle touched the lives of many people. His heart was so kind and his spirit, so patient. Dear to his heart were waterskiing, dartball, horseshoe, bowling and golfing with his buddies and the coffee klatch with the old boys at McDonald’s.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; his two sons, Jason (Carole) Bergerson of Anchorage, Alaska and Bjorn Bergerson of Kenai, Alaska; two grandchildren, Ryan and Jonathon; extended family and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by parents Hartwig and Thelma; sisters Margaret and Arlene and brothers Harold and Jerry.

No services are planned, but an open house for family and friends will be held at the family home on August 19th from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Come and share memories. A private interment service will be held at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery  in Spooner, WI.

A special thank you to the caring nurses, doctors and staff that helped him, especially those at St. Croix Hospice and the quilt of valor presentation.  You were all a blessing.
