Larry Rae Brenholt

Larry Rae Brenholt, passed away at his home in rural Chetek on Wednesday morning, August 29, 2018, at the age of 79. Larry was born to Richard and Gilma (Berg) Brenholt on November 4, 1938 in Rice Lake, WI.

He spent his early life in Chetek, Sandusky, Ohio, and Wahpeton, North Dakota. Larry graduated from Chetek High School. He worked in construction and as a plumber and welder throughout his work life. Larry served with the Wisconsin National Guard, Co. D of Rice Lake, WI. He lived in western Montana for many years before returning to the Chetek area.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; two daughters, Barbara Jo (Jim) Babbitt and Alyson (Ryan) Gonzales; four grandchildren, Janyl (Jon) Jentlie, Shane Renner, Emmett Gonzales and Eva Gonzales; two great granddaughters, Adrianna Jentlie and Elise Jentlie and two brothers, David (Rita) Brenholt and Wayne (Marilyn) Brenholt.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gilma Brenholt and a wife, JoAnn (Jorstad) Brenholt.

Funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 1080 Meilahn St, Chetek on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Pregnancy Help Center of Rice Lake, 234 N. Main Street, Rice Lake 54868; Lakeview Medical Hospice, 2304 S. Main St, Suite 6, Rice Lake, 54868 or Christ Lutheran Church.

  • Kathie Nelson Deepest condolences from Montana. I have fond memories of Larry when he lived here as he spent quite a bit of time with my Dad, Wayne Sykes. They used to get in to trading things back and forth all the time, saddles pistols, various hunting and horse items. I always felt they both needed to be in a western movie together.
