Robert Woodford, 78, of Eau Claire, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire.

Robert graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1958. He then went on to serve as a U.S. Marine from 1958-1963. He married Mary West on June 6, 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire and fostered over 50 children over the years.

Robert worked at Amour Meat Company for over 25 years and he also worked at TTM Technology in Chippewa Falls. He enjoyed spending his summers at Rose’s Bay on Potato Lake in Weyerhaeuser. Robert has been a member of St. Olaf Parish since 1970 and was also a member of the American Legion.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Woodford; sons, Michael Woodford, Jere Woodford; daughter, Shareen (John) Finnerty; grandson, Sam Finnerty; brothers, Bill Woodford, Dick (Yajuan) Woodford; Tim (Pam) Woodford, David (Renee) Woodford, John (Debbie) Woodford; sisters, Connie Butterfield, Sally (Blaine) Proue, Mary (Don) Cieslak; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Eleanor Woodford.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018, at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Officiating will be Deacon Bob Chittendon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Private family burial will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
