Katie Louise (Boettcher) Hughey, age 47, of Eau Claire, WI peacefully passed away after a short struggle with cancer Sunday, April 15, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 25, 1970 in Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of Byron and Mary (Kraft) Boettcher. She graduated from North Senior High School and went on to Washtenaw Community College for nursing in Ypsilanti, MI. Throughout Katie’s 19-year nursing career she touched the lives of numerous patients and their families as well as people she worked with. She was truly an angel in disguise for many people and her memory will be carried with them always.

 

Katie is survived by her parents, Byron and Mary Boettcher of Eau Claire; her son, Nathan Boettcher (Holly Osha); a sister, Laurie Boettcher of Chippewa Falls; a brother, Matt (Konnie) Boettcher of Eau Claire; 5 nieces and nephews; and 3 great nieces and nephews.

 

A private service will be held at a later date.

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services of Altoona, is serving the family.
